This half term we will be focusing on places which are important to us. We will be focusing on our Church and discussing what makes it a special place. We will talk about special occasions and what made it special.
We will continue our learning of rhythm and rhyme – sharing books and singing songs. We will also introduce syllables and alliteration towards the end of the half term.
We will be learning the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears – acting out the story; learning the structure of the story and suggesting alternative endings.
In Maths our focus will be on estimating then checking by counting. We will also look at shape again and look for shapes around us as well as using positional language. We move onto repeating patterns and sequencing.
We will use the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar in lots of areas of learning. We may also have our own caterpillars in class – we will observe them and hopefully see them change into butterflies! This will lead us into making our own butterfly creations using junk modelling, paint and ICT.
This half term we will be visiting the farm with many areas of learning linking to this also.
Another fun filled, exciting half term ahead of us!
