We had a fun- packed Science Day!
Every class took part in a Science Fair which was run by Year 6, the children were able to explore circuits, solid and liquids using corn flour, creating a mini volcano and lots more! The children all seemed to enjoy it and year 6 were excellent!
As a school we researched inventions over the last 50 years which links nicely with our school's 50th anniversary. Each year group was given a decade to research. Look out for a display around the school.
Within each year group the children were given a building challenge which involved marble runs, flotation devices, bridges, newspaper towers, straw towers and buildings made from marshmallows and cocktail sticks!
As a voluntary home learning task we asked the children to build a catapult that would launch a marshmallow the furthest! We were vey impressed with how many children joined in. A winner from each class brought their catapult to assembly and we tested them. The final winner was Daniel Jackson from Year 5!
