Welcome to the Year 4 class page!
The last half term - where has this year gone to?
Below is some useful information for Year 4.
Your child will be taught by Miss McCallum on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning and by Mrs McCarthy on Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday. Mrs Chidley is our learning assistant and will be supporting Year 4 all week.
Our topic for this half term will be: The Rainforest.
This is a particularly exciting topic as the children will learn all about different rainforests around the world, what plants, animals and people live in rainforests and how we can protect the rainforests in the future.
The children will also take part in a chocolate workshop in school and learn about where chocolate comes from!
Year 4 will have PE lessons on Wednesday mornings. On Thursday afternoons they will have PE with Mrs McCarthy.
Our weekly library slot in on Monday afternoons. The children will have the opportunity to visit the library and choose a book to read alongside their school reading book.
Homework will be handed out on Thursdays by Mrs McCarthy and collected in on Tuesdays by Miss McCallum. If homework is not handed in on Tuesday, children will miss their morning break to complete it. Please can we remind you the importance of listening to your child read as well. Their diary should be signed at least 3 times a week to say you have listened to them read aloud.
Year 4 will be taking part in the Summer fair where they will be performing a Maypole dancing. I am sure you will enjoy watching them having the opportunity to perform.
