Creating a Piece of Music to Represent a Roman God
In our topic lessons, we learnt about the different gods that the Ancient Romans believed in.
We listened to Gustav Holst's "Mars- Bringer of War" and thought about how well it represented this particular god. We thought that the drum beat sounded like marching and when the music builds to a crescendo, it sounds like a battle in full force.
Then, we were given a Roman god to represent in our own piece of music. Each member of our group chose a different instrument to represent their god. We also wrote our own basic score to help everyone in the group understand what they needed to play.
