Walk on Water

Isle of Wight Residential

Day 1 - we have had a lovely first day at the Mary Rose museum and are currently on the ferry heading to the Isle of Wight!

Day 1 evening - We have had a lovely evening at the beach tonight after a very scrumptious dinner of nachos, chilli con carne and chocolate fudge cake. We are settling down for the evening now ready for another fun day tomorrow.

Day 2 - The children have been absolutely fantastic so far. Everyone slept through the night so we have teachers and children full of energy for today! We have had bacon rolls, cereal and toast for breakfast and are ready for some sweet making and a trip to Amazon World.

Day 2 - we have had a lovely morning watching glass blowing and sweet making. Some of the children made their own sand bottles too. Lots of sweets have been purchased and we’re heading to Amazon World now. For lunch we had delicious sandwiches, crisps, fruit and biscuits. The children have set an incredible example of the behaviour and values of the school.

This afternoon we visited Amazon World and had some fun in the park there! We have been writing postcards that we will bring back with us on Friday. Tonight we are heading to the beach again for our sponsored bunny hop!

Day 2 - this evening, after a delicious dinner of pasta bolognese, jelly and ice cream, we went to the beach to complete our sponsored hop for The Peace Hospice. Again, the children have set a wonderful example and are all fast asleep and ready for more fun tomorrow!

Day 3 - After another filling breakfast, we made our way to Robin Hill where we completed so many fun activities. We started off by experiencing the 4D motion cinema followed by a ride on the Colossus pirate ship. We then made our way to the Falconry display where we saw some amazing birds of prey (although they did fly very close to our heads)! After a lunch in the beautiful surroundings, we then went on the Toboggan Run!

In the afternoon we made our way to Carisbrooke Castle where we completed our Easter Egg hunt amongst the ruins of the castle. We were then given an opportunity to spend some time sketching in the gardens and finding different parts of the castle. We are looking forward to a paddle in the sea this evening!

Day 3 - Tonight we have braved the cold weather and paddled in the sea! We finished with a talent show and a mini disco. Dinner tonight was American night and we enjoyed our burgers and chips!

Day 4 - after another fantastic night’s sleep and a delicious breakfast we went tree climbing! The children braved the cold winds and even some snow as they faced their fears and supported each other.

Day 4 - this afternoon we have been to Dinosaur Isle for a workshop and museum visit about the dinosaur discoveries on the Isle of Wight. We then we fossil hunting on the beach (with a little bit of snow).

Day 4 evening - After a lovely evening meal of sausage, chips and beans we went and played crazy golf! We had such a fun time and it was the best way to finish such an amazing residential. When we got back, it was time for the raffle. All week we have been working hard to get raffle tickets by keeping our rooms clean and eating all of our meals. Tonight was the prize draw - we received some great prizes!
