RAF Hendon - coding trip 9th November
On Friday 9th November, Year 6 learnt all about how to develop their coding skills in order to be an RAF pilot. First, we programmed a game to test our reaction times. Some of us were up to a Hercules pilot standard, but no one managed to be a Red Arrow standard (with reaction times of less than 200ms).
Then, we discussed the importance of navigation skills and coded our own compasses. These were uploaded onto Micro-Bits and we used them to navigate an orienteering hunt around Hangar 1.
After lunch, we were able to explore the museum and find out more about aircraft used in WWI and WWII. We have researched our favourite aircraft and presented it in a poster for homework. Why not come and have a look at them in our Creative Curriculum books?
