  • Sports Week 2016

    Wed 29 Jun 2016
Well it was a rather wet Sports Week, but despite the rotten weather we persevered!
Sports Day was a huge success. It had a damp start but the children were amazing, cheering each other in their House teams and carrying on throwing, running, jumping and solving problems without any tears or moans about the drizzle!
The afternoon running races were as competitive as ever and many races were very close. To decide who was the winning house came down to the last race - the House Relay. The fastest person from each house from each year group, battling against each other! Grove were the victors and once again then they lifted high the House Sports Cup.
The staff team vs Year 6 cricket team match was interesting as for the first time ever, the Staff won! Unfortunately due to bad weather, we were unable to hold the netball match staff vs pupils. However we will try to fix another date for this.
EYFS sports morning had to be postponed due to bad weather. However we have a reserve date and I am sure it will take place on this day. There will be many team events and short running races at the end and, more importantly, ice pops to finish!
Thank you for supporting all of these events, it means a great deal to the children and if you would like to regain some memories of the day, take a look at our podcast film of Sports Day 2016.
  • Summer Fair 2016

    Tue 14 Jun 2016
Thank you to one and all for helping and coming to our Church and School Summer Fair on June 12th.
There were a few damp showers but nothing dampened our spirits!
Firstly the community said a wonderful goodbye to Ysmena at church. The church pews were packed and Mr Loyd gave Ysmena a lovely send off.
The School Choir then opened proceedings to the Fair, with two beautiful renditions of two songs. The Year 4 dancers produced a wonderful pattern with our Maypole and Year 2 displayed excellent country dancing skills in their lovely country dancing outfits. Thank you to all the staff involved.
There was a rather wet bouncy castle slide that the children enjoyed, Miss Heraty enjoyed judging some marvellous crowns designed by all ages. Thank you to all of you who entered this competition.
There was face painting, a grand raffle, trips up the Bell Tower at Church, some fantastic craft stalls, amazing designs of games from Year 5 and lots more!
    Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
A huge thank you to Mrs Parker, Mrs Dawson, the Church social committee and to all of the parents, members of the congregation and community who helped before, during and after this grand event.
We should all be extremely proud of ourselves. It was a lovely day and hopefully we have made some money for the school and church in the process!
