Spanish
Spanish
At St Paul's, we enjoy learning how to speak another language throughout our curriculum as well as discreet lessons.
We start introducing Spanish in Nursery and reception in the form of songs and basic vocabulary and phrases. In key stage 1, they learn a new phrase or class routine in Spanish each week. This is progressed to, weekly half hour discrete lessons every week in key stage 2, following different units from 'Language Angels' which is taught by the class teacher. Spanish vocabular is then continued to be spoken by teachers and pupils throughout the week.
We are aiming for Spanish to be spoken creatively and spontaneously by staff and children alike and we practise really hard to speak Spanish without an English accent! Ask us and be amazed!
Any specialists out there would be more than welcome to come and share their expertise with our children. Please just let us know.
