OPAL

Our OPAL Journey

At St Paul's, we are committed to ensuring high quality play opportunities are available to all our children. We believe that play is essential for the physical, emotional, social, spiritual and intellectual development of everychild. Most of our best childhood memories are from playing outdoors, climbing trees and exploring the wide world around us. OPAL gives us the opportunity to give those memories to your children. OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) is all about using natural and man made resources to allow children to be inspired and creative at playtime.

Join us on our journey and see our progress below!

After a long and busy two years, we are proud to announce that we have completed the OPAL programme with a score of 99%. The whole of the St Paul's community have helped to make playtime inspirational for our children and we are grateful to everyone who has supported us on our journey. Today we were presented with our Platinum Award by Neil Coleman from OPAL and Gagan Mohindra MP opened our new sandpit. We were also joined by our local councillors and parents for a 'Stay and Play.'

We have sand! Thank you to The Grove for their generous donation of sand. We cannot wait for the grand opening so please do come and join us!

A huge thank you to everyone who came to help us build our sandpit and many other jobs to support our OPAL journey. All we need now is the sand!

We now have a mud kitchen too! Thank you so much to Mr Gunning for creating this for us. We can’t wait to see what the children start making! 🧑‍🍳

Our loose parts shed is complete! A huge thank you to everyone that helped to get this built so quickly. We can’t wait to fill it with exciting loose parts!

We have started our OPAL journey with an amazing turn out of staff, parents and children to help prepare palettes for our Mud Kitchen and dig our new Sensory Bible Path.
