  • RE Day

    Tue 14 Jan 2020

Our first theme day of 2020 was RE Day! We chose to focus on worship and different faiths. We researched how different religions worship in different ways. Reception and Nursery - Christianity, Year 1 and 2 - Islam, Year 3 and 4 - Judaism, Year 5 - Hinduism and Year 6 - Buddhism.

We all completed some artwork and written work to do with how, where and why different religions worship. We also had a very special treat from Mrs Whitby and Mrs Butcher who taught us a different way of worshipping through the use of music and flags. We look forward to doing more work with them throughout the year.

  • Lights Out for Tanzania

Tue 17 Dec 2019 Miss Martindale
Thank you to everyone who has donated sponsorship money towards the Light Up Tanzania appeal. Today we spent the day in darkness! It was a real challenge to cope without lights and laptops but a real insight into how people in Tanzania live with no electricity. Every penny we raise will help give people in Tanzania a solar panel and allow them the light and resources we often take for granted. There is still time to send in sponsorship money. Please send anything in by the end of the week.

  • Key Stage 1 Nativity

Mon 09 Dec 2019 Miss Martindale
We had a wonderful start to the afternoon watching Year 1 and 2’s performance of Lights, Camel, Action 2! The children had smiles on their faces throughout and it was great to see such excellent dance moves and hear their beautiful singing. Parents, you’re in for a treat! A huge well done to the whole Key Stage 1 team for putting the show together. We’re all feeling very festive now!
  • Year 5 Fun Run

Fri 22 Nov 2019 Mrs Ashley Oosthuizen
Year 5 took part in a fun run today. We haven't got any results yet but the children demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout the afternoon. Despite it being VERY cold they kept in high spirits, cheering each other on and even stopped to help a child from another school that had fallen. Some of the boys and girls ran back to help friends that were further behind and struggling. We were all very proud!

  • Wincanton Road Safety Visit

Mon 11 Nov 2019 Miss Martindale

We had an extra special visit from a very large vehicle today! Wincanton have spent the day showing us how to keep safe around large vehicles on the road. We learnt about the vehicle’s blind spots and how even our loudest voices cannot be heard by the driver inside. Thank you to our visitors for their very helpful information and for our free goody bags!
