The School Choir and Year 5's Visit to The Blind Centre
Wed 27 Mar 2019This afternoon, the school choir and year 5 went to The Blind Centre in Watford to perform some of their latest pieces. The children all sung and played their ukuleles beautifully. Everyone there commented on how impressed they were with the children's talents and asked us to come back again soon.
The most wonderful thing to see was the way that the children interacted with the people at the Blind Centre with such care and kindness. The year 5 children took their ukuleles around and even taught some people how to play a few notes! It was difficult to leave they were all having such a lovely time. All of the children should be incredibly proud of themselves and of the impression they gave of the whole school.

Inspector Right's Easter Assembly
Wed 27 Mar 2019We had some vey exciting visitors on Tuesday to our school - a priest, a soldier, Pilate, Peter, a guard and an inspector. These special guests came to visit us during the day so that we could ask them questions to help the inspector find out what really happened to Jesus. We presented our findings as case files on each person to the chief inspector at the end of the day. We had to think carefully about what we believe happened to Jesus at Easter.
A huge thank you to Mr Bewley and Reverend James for helping to bring the Easter Story alive and to certainly make it memorable for the school!

Book Week
Mon 11 Mar 2019The children have had a wonderful week writing their own books for book week. We had a chance to dress up as our favourite mythical or animal characters from books on World Book Day and were inspired by a visit from author Jenny Ford.
This week every class displayed their finished books and the whole school went on a walk around each class to read them. The different styles of books from pop-up books, lift-the-flap books and eBooks really showed off the children's creative flair. The writing inside blew the children away. If you get the chance, you must come in and read some!

A visit from author Jenny Ford
Mon 04 Mar 2019Today we were very lucky to have a visit from a real author! Jenny Ford is the author of Tilly and the Magical Mermaid and Joshua and the Magical Unicorn. She gave us lots of tips for how to improve our own writing and explained the importance of editing and improving your first draft. The children had lots of very interesting questions about how they can improve as a writer and about Jenny's love of reading. The children are now feeling very inspired to write their own books this week! -
Our new iPads!
Fri 01 Mar 2019Year 4 and 5 were first to try out our brand new iPads this week! Year 4 used them to improve their times tables using our new maths apps and Year 5 went on a prayer trail around the school grounds scanning QR codes to find out more about the Easter Story. A huge thank you to the Friends for purchasing these extremely valuable learning resources for us and also to every parent and visitor who has contributed to any of our events organised by The Friends. It is these events and the money that is raised which help our children to have these wonderful learning experiences. -
Mutli-Cultural Day
Fri 15 Feb 2019Today was a very special day at St Paul's where we learnt all about the country South Africa. We were inspired to learn about South Africa as lots of us have links to this country through families, friends, holidays and even the staff! Mr and Mrs Bewley visited South Africa last year to support a charity called The Sozo Foundation. This charity has been set up to support local people who do not have a safe place to do their homework, a cooked meal every day or the chance at a good education with job opportunities. During the morning they inspired us by telling us about the work of The Sozo Foundation.
Throughout the day every class made their own South African themed baked goods and we sold them raising an amazing £200 for The Sozo Foundation. Thank you to everyone that came to our bake sale and helped to raise this money. If you would still like to donate to this wonderful cause you can via this link: https://www.give.net/bemorenate
The fun did not stop there! Have a look at the pictures below to see our wonderful South African inspired art work, Gumboot dancing (with our wellies on!), food tasting, music and a talk from Mrs Ashley about her life in South Africa before she moved to England.

Feeling Good Week
Fri 15 Feb 2019We have been thinking about different ways to help ourselves and each other feel good this week. The Health Committee, with the support of Mrs Wilson, created some ideas that they thought might help us all to feel good!
*The 'I'm Feeling Good' Bucket - than you to all of the children that nominated someone who has helped them to feel good, not just this week but always! If you were nominated then well done for being such a wonderful role model!
*Scooters - who doesn't feel good when they're riding a scooter? Doing exercise helps us to feel good in lots of different ways. Perhaps you could do this at home more to help you to feel good!
*Mindfulness - from colouring to relaxing music and breathing techniques e have been trying different mindfulness activities this week. These help us to feel positive and focused.
*Circle Time - this week out PSHE lessons have been focused on wellbeing and thinking of different ways that we can look after our bodies ad our minds by being active, learning, giving, connecting, noticing and caring. During our circle time sessions we thought about what makes us feel good and how we could help someone that is feeling worried.
We did lots more throughout the week so have a look at the different class pages to see what they did. Hopefully we can use what we have learnt not just for Feeling Good Week but every week to help us to feel more positive and to learn more!

KS2 CEOP Assembly
Thu 07 Feb 2019Year 3- 6 were treated to an assembly by a special vistor called Kelly today. She works for the organisation CEOP and talked to us about how to stay safe online. We were reminded about the need to be 13 years old to use websites such as Instagram and Facebook and that if we ever feel that we are not safe online we must talk to a trusted adult.
Thank you Kelly for helping us to think about keeping our passwords safe, our location services switched off and how to stay safe when using live streaming!
