  • Young Voices at the o2

Wed 30 Jan 2019 Miss Cohen

Last night the choir performed as part of the Young Voices event at the 02 Arena. We sang and danced all day and night and performed with a range of talented musicians including Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet.

The choir have worked so hard for this event and I was very proud of them - this was a night they will never forget.

  • Year 5 Woodrow High House Residential Trip

Sun 27 Jan 2019 Miss Martindale
Year 5 had a fantastic three day residential trip to Woodrow High House in Amersham this week. The children went with the aim to improve their teamwork skills and definitely achieved that through a wide variety of challenges and activities. From scavenger hunts to drumming workshops and raft building to low rope courses they certainly had to support each other with trying lots of new things. Mr Gunning created an amazing campfire in the snow while Mrs Hart taught us some lovely new campfire songs. We were certainly spoilt for choice with food at meal times and had the whole house and snow covered grounds to ourselves! Have a look at a few highlights below and lots more pictures on the Year 5 class page. A huge thank you to Mr Gunning Mrs Hart and Miss Cohen for giving up their time to support Year 5 on this trip.
  • RE Day

Fri 11 Jan 2019 Miss Martindale

We have had a lovely day at St Paul's today learning all about Saint Paul! We started the morning with a visit from Archdeacon Jonathon who came to tell us all about Saint Paul before he was a Saint, when his name was Saul. We learnt about how Saul became a good man and that everyone can change with help from God.

Throughout the day we learnt all about Saint Paul's life and the difference he made to help others learn about Jesus and Christianity. We are grateful to Jesus for helping Paul to become a good person and to Saint Paul for spreading the word of God.

We visited the church to follow clues to find a secret word. If you found the word PRAYER then well done! You solved all of the clues correctly. We explored the Lord's Prayer through song with Miss Cohen and by following the Prayer Trail set up by Worship Group. Some classes created beautiful artwork all about Saint Paul and some told the story of his life through poetry. Come and see all of our lovely work on display around the school!

A huge thank you to Mrs Whitby and her team of helpers for putting on a fabulous dance workshop for us, helping us to imagine the different feelings that Saint Paul may have felt on his journey to Damascus. And also to Reverend James for his insightful discussions with Year 5 and 6.

We were very impressed with our KS2 drummers this morning when we were treated to a performance of what they have learnt so far. All of the boys have picked up this new skills incredibly quickly and it was lovely to see them perform so confidently after such a short time of learning.

We can't wait for your next performance!

Have a look at a video of their performance on the music page here!

A huge well done to all of KS2 for a wonderful performance of carols at St Paul's Church on Wednesday evening. Everyone sang beautifully and helped to make us all feel more festive. A special well done to the children that performed in our tableau, all of the soloists and the readers. Thank you to Miss Cohen for organising the event and conducting, to Mrs Sands for accompanying the children on the piano and to all of the staff who helped the children to learn their songs and supported the event. Merry Christmas!

Tue 11 Dec 2018 Miss Martindale
A huge well done to all of Year 5 for completing the fun run last week. It was wet and very tiring but all of the children did very well. It was lovely to see everyone encouraging and supporting each other. A special well done to the elite boys and girls who ran competitively against other local schools. 6 of our children finished in the top 10 and have qualified for the Watford and District Cross Country Finals.
  • Advent Market

Mon 26 Nov 2018 Miss Martindale

Our Advent Market was a huge success again this year and it was lovely to see so many of you there supporting the school and the church. We were treated to wonderful, festive performances by the school choir and the Year 5 children and their ukuleles. There were many stall holders selling beautiful gifts, delicious cakes and lots of entertainment for adults and children. Thank you to everyone who supported this event by coming along, running an stall, setting up and packing away. Every pound and every minute of time donated really helps the school and the church to continue providing for our children.

We hope this has helped you to start feeling festive!
