  • Maths Day!

Fri 16 Nov 2018 Miss Martindale

We have had a lovely day enjoying all things mathematical at St Paul's! While wearing our pyjamas to raise money for Children in Need, we have had the opportunity to do an outdoor maths trail, use the laptops to help us to learn our times tables, build 2D and 3D shapes with marshmallows and cocktail sticks and even learn about some famous mathematicians.

A huge thank you to Mrs McCarthy for organising the day for us!

KS2 had a very exciting first day back this term with a trip to the Barbican theatre in London. We were treated to a reading of Presto and Zesto in Limboland, a new book by Maurice Sendak and Aruthur Yorinks. The story was accompanied by live music played the London Symphony Orchestra and it was lovely to hear the children singing along with the songs they had been learning. Thank you to Mrs Webster and Miss Smyth for organising this musical treat for us and also to all of the parents who came along to support.

Tue 02 Oct 2018 Miss Martindale
The Worship Group had a lovely morning at St Albans Cathedral, joining over one thousand children in a harvest service led by Bishop Michael. We sung a variety of songs and listened to readings from the Bible that helped us to think about how lucky we are and how grateful we are, especially during harvest.
  • Yamaha Music School

Sat 22 Sep 2018 Miss Cohen

On Monday 17th September we were treated to an assembly from the Yamaha Music School who played a selection of popular songs for us and got everyone joining in too. It was really inspiring! We quickly picked up rhythms and were able to keep in time. Some children even had a chance to play some tunes on the keyboards and picked things up really quickly. We definitely have some budding musicians!

  • Mud and Memorials Clay Workshop

Fri 22 Jun 2018 Miss Martindale
On Wednesday, we were treated to a wonderful clay workshop by two visitors from the Mud and Memorials project in Abbots Langley. The two visitors, Jo and Roger, came with stories of men who had fought in the First World War and lived in Langleybury. Some of the men even had the same surnames as children at our school! The children created remembrance tiles out of clay which will be displayed as part of a memorial in Abbots Langley village. We have been invited to see the unveiling of the memorial in October. The visitors complimented all of the children on their maturity and respect shown during the workshop.
  • May Fair

Wed 30 May 2018 Miss Martindale

A huge thank you to everyone who donated their time and money at our annual May Fair on Sunday 20th May. We were treated to wonderful performances of country dancing by Year 2, maypole dancing by Year 4 and some songs from Oliver by the school choir. There were plenty of games, lots of food and drink and as always fantastic raffle prizes to be won.

A lot of hard work goes into planning and running this event but all the money raised goes towards supporting our school and church, so thank you for your continued support.
