Governor's Day and AGM
Thu 15 Mar 2018Today the school had some exciting visitors. Our school Governors came in to spend some time with the children in their classes. The children, staff and governors all enjoyed sharing what their class have been learning about. The children got to spend some time at lunch with the governors and after an afternoon of meetings the AGM began. The choir opened the event by singing beautifully and there was a very full audience of parents and staff. Andrew Gunning, Chair of Governors, spoke about some of the key successes of our school over the past year and also of the difficulties we are to face. There was then lots of time for questions (and cake) and for the children to show their parents their favourite piece of work from this term.
It was an incredibly positive day enjoyed by all!

Children's author Jack Trelawny visits St Paul's!
Mon 12 Mar 2018The children had a wonderful treat this morning, a visit from a real author! Having spent book week and the build up to it reading his books, his assembly this morning has inspired us further to become writers. All of the members of staff have commented on how inspired by his style of writing the children have been and that their writing has made lots of progress as a result. Jack had many exciting ideas and tips about how to create characters and encouraged the children to keep ideas books of all of the weird and wonderful things they see around them. The children listened beautifully and asked many interesting questions. Some were even treated to a signed copy of one of his books.
A huge thank you to Jack Trelawny for his visit, the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

The children were incredibly mature and sensible and the instructors praised them highly. Every child that participated has achieved either their Level 1 or Level 2 award and they all should be extremely proud of themselves. I am sure we will now see many more Year 5 bikes in the bike shed! -
